Motorized Floor-Rising vs Fixed-Frame UST Projector Screen
Both formats can use UST-specific ALR material. The bigger difference is whether you want the screen to become a permanent part of the room or disappear between viewing sessions.

Choose floor-rising when the room must stay visually flexible
The biggest advantage is not “better picture quality” by default. It is that the screen can vanish. If a 120-inch permanent frame would block art, windows, cabinetry or simply overwhelm the room, retractability can justify the extra mechanical complexity.
Choose fixed frame when simplicity wins
A fixed frame is hard to beat for mechanical simplicity and permanent surface tension. If the wall is dedicated to projection, there is little reason to add motors just to hide a screen you never need to hide.
Picture quality depends more on the surface than the format
Do not assume a motorized screen is automatically better or worse optically. Compare the actual screen material, UST compatibility, gain, viewing angle and room-light behavior. The mechanical format mainly changes how the screen lives in the room.
